Is this your first time installing a font?
You have to add it to Fonts folder by clicking it and dragging it to the window.
quick fox or jawdaws is a sample sentence. If you get blank rectangles the font doesn't have that character.
You can use the font in any program that uses fonts. If you install a font and it doesn't show on your font list, restart the program and it will be there
