The Auptimagh (pronounce: Ohp-tee-mah) was named after the village with the
same name in the north-west of the Scottish Highlands. Loch Auptimagh, nearby
scenic lake, is praised by the locals for its abundant fishing resources and generally renowned for the the both terrifying and invisible "Monster of Glenn Zaph", first mentioned in a 16th c. manuscript probably originating from the nearby Abbey of St. Herman, now a ruin that was a popular motive of a 19th c. landscape painter who remained anonymous for obvious reasons.
