    About THE PALE EMPEROR Font

This font was based off the works by Hassan Rahim and Willo Perron, who designed the title text for rock'n'roll singer Marilyn Manson's ninth studio album, 'The Pale Emperor'. I have based the font off their designs for the album cover, of which was designed to mimic the devil blues era of rock'n'roll, an era of which heavily inspired this record. The album design also visual references German sub-culture, like post-modern Degenerate photography, but most notably the character of fiction, 'Mephistopheles', who Manson heavily identifies with on his record. Mephistopheles, being the man who made a deal with the devil then thought he could outrun him - as Manson put it, he himself had been hearing "the hounds of hell on my trail", and Marilyn running away from paying his dues. By making this record, he tributes the birth of rock'n'roll, and "re-claims the mortgage on his soul."
