    About Marcellus Font

Marcellus and Marcellus SC (small caps) are a set of flared serif typeface families, inspired by classic Roman inscription letterforms. While the SC family leans more towards the titling style of Trajan, the Regular version lends itself to a wider range of usage. These elegant typefaces, when combined in use, exude clarity and beauty for both on screen and printed materials.

It reminds me more of Optima or Zapf Humanist than Trajan. Whatever. It's cool and stylish... and free. I like that 😉

Yes, very like Zapf Humanist, but a definite improvement.

Very Hermann Zapfian! It also breaks away from his work. IDEAL for stone and wood carving! Another fine job!

Made me think of Optima too, because of the weight contrast. But the letter shapes are definitely similar to Trajan. Very interesting and attractive font family. Love this foundry. To the person who asked for this in italic: My head is spinning! I don't think you could really do an italic in this style? Maybe just an oblique?
