These are the current Highway Gothic letterforms (updated in February 2025) used by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to design the signs shown in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Standard Highway Signs (SHS) manuals. This is a family-built version for ease of use by graphic designers. For sign designs requiring spacing, it is recommended to download the individual weight with spaced individual fonts, because the method of spacing for sign design by the FHWA does not conform to the manner of spacing used in graphic design programs. The spacing is done on a strict percentage of character width basis. These fonts contain no kerning pairs, and that is intentional.
