    About MAGNETIC FRIDGE Font

    Charityfonts4AlzheimersResearch created by SpideRaYsfoNtS

It's been almost 3 years since we lost Mum before the Pandemic, during lockdown I experimented with SVG font so it's now 2021 and as we come out of lockdown hopefully for the last time, I have decided to release a colour version in OTF-SVG format this is ONLY available on my ETSY store @ https://etsy.me/2pAnOBc

We aim to raise £500 to help, I recently watched the powerful dementia campaign to challenge misunderstanding of condition of Alzheimer’s where Samuel L. Jackson gives everyone his advice to #sharetheorange so I decided to do this my way by creating a donationware typeface called MAGNETIC FRIDGE after my 9 year old daughter gave me a magnet from our fridge, it occurred to me that we open our fridge's at least once a day, my Mum had fridge magnets from everywhere she visited I guess it was her way of remembering where she had enjoyed herself with her family, for me will now be a reminder of the problems my Dad had coping with this the most cruel of diseases, and the horrible way he treated my Mum, by not dealing nor understanding her problems.

It's now been a year since we lost my amazing Mum to complications linked to vascular problems the attributing factors to her passing was the early onset of Dementia. Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia are the most common types. Sadly she passed away in the ICU after a bowel operation as she also had ischemic heart disease. I knew she was a very poorly woman and I have now accepted the fact that she is no longer with us. However I miss still her every day!

Despite all these things being lost, she still retained some of her abilities, and still felt an emotional connection to people she even changed her will to include both my children, however my father her life partner has not coped with the loss and as a result has now disowned me his only living relative, he remains angry with me instead of being angry with himself for not coping with Mum's increasing memory problems. I only wish I had been more aware of her problems and had known more about her early dementia as she started to change so that I could have given her the understanding and help she deserved sooner. I guess you always think these things happen to everyone else? Please donate to Altzhemier's Research UK registered charity No. 1077089 and SC042474

A person with dementia feels confused more and more often. When they can't make sense of the world or get something wrong, they may feel frustrated and angry with themselves. They may become angry or upset with other people very easily. They might not be able to say why. We need to support them!
