This is Willma Mankiller Modern. Modern regarding it's serif. this will be fallow up with a 2nd version of a Willma Mankiller, except it will be a "transitional" at lease my attempt at a transitional font. so the 2nd version will be call Willma Mankiller transitional.
I took the liberty to play with different "shoulder", "Terminal","finial" etc. on these 2 fonts. when the 2nd version comes out the difference will be clear. of course i base this on all the version i can find on regarding the traditional version of the original Cherokee font.

I want to note that with some Cherokee fonts, like this version, i get rid of the tear drop terminal and replace it with a serif beak. i think replacing one thing in one design does not take away from the legibility or readability in a font. all this of course is an experiment.

This is just beautiful! Cousin Wilma would be proud. It feels like the perfect bridge between traditional ᏣᎳᎩ syllabary and current Cherokee sensibilities. You rock like lava.
