Stephen Deken, font designer Isabelle Trolio's partner at the (now sadly defunct) Typearound font site wrote this in August 1999 to introduce this font:

"Up for grabs and shameless downloading this week is Lipstick Traces. As this is Isabelle's handiwork, and she didn't give me a blurb, I can only speculate as to where it came from...
See, I think that what happened was that Isabelle woke up one morning and couldn't find her lipstick. She stumbled around for a while and finally made it out to the kitchen, where she found the following ransom note, w ritten all in uppercase:
"WE HAVE YOUR ZEBRA. OF COURSE, IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT DO WHATEVER IT IS THAT ZEBRAS DO, BRING THE XYLOPHONE AND A MOOSE AND MEET US AT JACK'S BARBEQUE."
Being a true font geek, Isabelle completely ignored the actual content of the note and immediately made it into a font. She even got a teensy bit carried away and used the remaining lipstick to make a kissprint.
(Okay okay, so that's not the way it went. That'll teach Isabelle to not write her own blurb, though...)"
