I am an artist and cartoonist I use different fonts to differentiate characters in a conversation and give some definition to their personality so if a character is bubbly, I'll use font that might be party or balloon oriented. If the character is dark/ broodish I'll look for something in heavy black and heavy. There are many personalities in these fonts.
